MEET HANNAH COX

Hannah Cox is a prominent political writer, commentator, and activist whose work centers around the advancement of free market capitalism and individual liberty. She’s the President and founder of Athens Media, a popular content creator on social media, and a frequent guest on Fox News. Her work has resulted in the repeal of the death penalty in three states, numerous school choice programs, the elimination of income taxes, free speech protections, tech freedom protections, healthcare deregulations like the repeal of certificate of need programs, the repeal of occupational licenses, and the protection of worker rights against Big Labor.
She began her career in Nashville’s music industry, interning with Taylor Swift’s management, coordinating red carpets, and ultimately advancing to a director role with Entertainment One. During this time, she developed a passion for public policy, working on the side with the Tennessee Firearms Association in defense of the Second Amendment and as a pro bono lobbyist for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). In 2016, she transitioned fully from music to politics and has been dedicated to policy work ever since.
For nearly three years, Hannah served as Senior National Manager of Conservatives Concerned About the Death Penalty. Prior to this, she worked with the Beacon Center of Tennessee, playing a key role in free-market legislation and economic liberty litigation. From 2021 to 2022, Hannah was the Content Manager and Brand Ambassador for the Foundation for Economic Education (FEE), the nation’s oldest libertarian think tank.
In recent years, Hannah has built a dynamic media presence. She launched the popular BASED podcast in 2020, which quickly climbed to the top 10% of shows. In 2021, she and Brad Polumbo teamed up to introduce the spinoff podcast, The Based Brief, leading to the founding of BASEDPolitics as a nonprofit organization in 2022. Her writing frequently appears in The Washington Examiner and Newsmax, and she is a regular guest on programs across the political spectrum, including appearances on Fox Business with Maria Bartiromo, Newsmax with Carl Higbie, and The Young Turks.
Hannah’s work centers on defending individual liberty, free markets, and limited government. Since 2021, she has collaborated with numerous organizations to champion policies that empower everyday Americans. Through Athens Media, she merges her background in entertainment, media, and advocacy to drive change. Hannah recognizes the critical role of media in shaping public policy and leverages Athens Media’s platform to pursue major reforms and safeguard human rights.
